Saturday the 9th

A great evening last night... even better weather this morning. We set sail at about 11 from Newport to the Kickamuit, where we encounted Nixie and Seaquille. Jim and Jose both had a chance at "driver's ed."

It has been a wonderful weekend so far. Brad has been a wonderful captain and host, being patient with Jim and me as we learn sailing terms and things we must do to ensure our safe arrival at our destination. Yesterday was great. The skies were a little gray before we arrived at Newport, then they cleared in time for an amazing sunset and dinner event at the Inn at Castle Hill. Today, if possible, has been even better. First, there was no gray; the sun has shined all day. Second, there was LESS work given a more favorable wind. As a result, we enjoyed an easier ride, and I even got to drive the boat. Now we are anchored and will prepare dinner shortly. Until the, a little wine and cheese!
