Saluting the Providence

The Continental Sloop Providence passed us and we found it necessary to salute. The salute was not returned.
Sept 30th weekend - Po'Man Race

Theo on board as PRO, with Scott, Ross, Jill and (in his nautical debut) Albert. We postponed the start by 45 min or so, but then a nice southerly kicked in. The boats were off at 11:40 or so. Chef Albert prepared a wonderful guacomoli dip and some nice salsa for the Committee.

29th anniversary cruise

Sometimes you just have to love weathermen. The forecast was for a rainy Saturday and an OK Sunday. We woke up Saturday to beautifuly sunny skies. Alas, no wind, but you cant have everything.
Jim motored on the way down, Carol took the helm on the way back. Destination Jamestown, where we had a great mean at Trattoria Sympatico and an enormous gut-busting brunch at the Bay Voyage.

Saturday the 9th

A great evening last night... even better weather this morning. We set sail at about 11 from Newport to the Kickamuit, where we encounted Nixie and Seaquille. Jim and Jose both had a chance at "driver's ed."

Finally! Decent weather!
Jim, Jose and I are off today to Newport, where we have a soiree this evening at the Inn at Castle Hill. Tomorrow hopefully the Kickamuit, weather and wind depending. Looks pretty calm right now. May be a motor kind of day.
